Position Summary
We are looking for a Cloud Engineer to join our team at BITSUMMIT. In this role, you will be responsible for designing, managing, and optimizing cloud infrastructure to ensure high availability, security, and performance.You will play a key role in cloud automation, monitoring, and incident response while working closely with cross-functional teams to support scalable and efficient cloud environments.
Your primary focus will be implementing and maintaining cloud resources in Microsoft Azure or AWS, ensuring compliance with industry best practices, optimizing costs, and driving automation. You will also work on access management, disaster recovery planning, and security enhancements to maintain the integrity of cloud infrastructure.
As a Cloud Engineer, you will collaborate with developers, security teams, and business stakeholders to align cloud operations with business objectives, ensuring seamless operation of mission-critical services.
Job Description
- Design, implement, and maintain scalable, reliable, and secure cloud environments in Azure or AWS.
- Implement monitoring solutions to track the health, performance, and availability of cloud resources.
- Ensure cloud infrastructure aligns with security best practices and compliance standards.
- Utilize tools like Terraform, CloudFormation, ARM templates, and scripting languages such as Python, PowerShell, or Bash to automate cloud deployments and management.
- Monitor cloud expenditure and implement cost-control strategies without compromising security or performance.
- Take ownership of cloud-related incidents, implement alert strategies, and resolve technical issues efficiently.
- Implement and manage access controls for cloud resources to ensure proper governance.
- Develop and maintain cloud-based disaster recovery plans.
- Work closely with development, SRE, and security teams to align cloud strategies with business goals. Maintain comprehensive documentation and diagrams.
- Participate in an on-call rotation to support cloud infrastructure.
Required Experience
Do you have:
- At least eight years of experience in cloud computing, specializing in Azure or AWS.
- Background in SaaS environments, with experience managing multiple product lines.
- Strong expertise in containerization using Docker and Kubernetes, as well as cloud-native tools like Terraform, CloudFormation, and ARM.
- Extensive experience with cloud services such as EC2, S3, RDS, EKS, ECS, Lambda, or their Azure equivalents.
- Proficiency in scripting languages such as Python, PowerShell, or Bash.
- Deep understanding of networking concepts, security, and cloud governance.
- Experience with Git-based version control systems such as GitHub, Bitbucket, or Azure DevOps.
- Strong problem-solving skills and a proactive approach to cloud optimization.
- Strong collaboration and communication skills, working across technical and non-technical teams.
And also maybe:
- Experience with Google Cloud Platform (GCP).
- Expertise in cloud security frameworks such as StateRAMP certification.
- Previous experience working with Jira.
- Certifications such as:
- Microsoft Certified: DevOps Engineer Expert
- AWS Certified DevOps Engineer
- Equivalent industry-recognized cloud certifications
